Yellow Rose - Watercolor

Back before I was a linocut printmaker, I was a watercolor artist. I painted for many, many, many, many years. One of my favorite subject matters was flowers.

There are so many beautiful aspects to "Yellow Rose." The colorful, atmospheric background, the colors and layout of the fabric the vase is sitting on, the reflection in the glass vase, and the flower itself. This painting is vibrant and full of color.

*This watercolor was painted on 300lb. Arches watercolor paper with Winsor Newton watercolors. Winsor and Newton watercolors are the finest watercolors available.

*Size: The art image is approximately 10 1/4"x 14 1/4'." The paper size is approx. 11 1/4" x 15."

*Framing Suggestion: I would suggest having an acid free mat cut for the watercolor. Acid free mat board will keep the paper from yellowing with age. The mat will keep the painting away from the glass, just in case moisture gets inside the frame. And always, the best way to protect any original art piece is to be sure to not hang it in direct sunlight or close to a bright lamp which will age and fade the artwork.
